We Raleigh residents love making awesome lists. There has been many, but every once in awhile there is one that is more rewarding than others. Recently Forbes put Raleigh on the list of 15 of the world’s most inventive cities. In case my italics and bolding didn’t emphasize it enough, this is 15th in the world.
This list was compiled by the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development which calculated the number of patents applications. It’s not really a secret that Raleigh is an intelligent, innovative and inventive community. Last week I hosted a RaleighPlus Hangout on how we can continue to keep our city competitive and a draw for companies and startups.
Tomorrow I am hosting the Entrepreneurs Roundtable at The HQ (HUB Raleigh) at 2:30pm. This roundtable is specifically focused on some of Raleigh’s most active innovators and the creators of small businesses that are the backbone to our economy. I look forward to hearing how our city government can do more to help those creating jobs and ideas in our communities.
I love that Raleigh is being recognized for our incredible talent, but we can’t stop there, we have to keep looking forward. As I run for re-election I am looking for opportunities to speak to everyone on how we can improve. Tell me what we can do for you!
